My bag contains an exotic skin. How do I best care for it?

Alligator-Crocodile-Turtle-Lizard leather are the most durable of exotic leathers. If your exotic skin handbag is not cared for properly the appearance and durability of the leather will diminish. Never use alcohol, household chemicals or other solvents to clean your bag. Such products can harm the finish and remove coloring from skins.

For MATTE Alligator Finishes as well as SNAKESKIN, LIZARD, TURTLE and OSTRICH we recommend cleaning with BICK 4 Leather Cleaner & Conditioner followed by Mink oil every month.

My bag contains a classic leather. How do I best care for it?

For classic high gloss finishes you should wipe with a soft clean cloth regularly to remove dust. Dust is the number one contributor to dry and cracking leather or skin. We recommend cleaning your bag once a month or so with BICK 4 Leather Cleaner & Conditioner.

My bag contains a classic suede. How do I best care for it?

Suede should be kept away from water and chemicals like perfume and hairspray. Use a WOLY brand wire brush to lift the nap and remove dust and oils when needed. To remove stains we recommend using a WOLY brand suede gum. Suede can also be protected with WOLY brand Natura waterproof suede spray.

How do I best store my bag?

​All bags should be stored in a cloth dust cover or covered with soft cotton cloth. Bags should be stored in a temperate place when not in use and out of direct sunlight. Store your bag in such a way as to not impinge the handle or carry strap. If needed, fill the space between the top of the bag and strap with tissue to support the carry strap or handle. It is also a good idea to stuff your bag with tissue to maintain its shape.

How long will my bag last?

If cared for properly your bag should last a lifetime. Nourish your investment so that you may pass it along to the next generation.

We do not currently offer returns or exchanges. Please make sure you look at the photographs and read the description carefully prior to purchase.

Do you charge sales tax?

Yes, we have to charge sales tax as enforced by the state of Georgia.

Quality of Items

What type of quality can I expect from you?

All of our inventory is vintage and either pre-owned or dead stock. Our photographs are an important part of the description. Please look at them carefully. At PerSe' we sell only high quality bags in fantastic pre-owned condition.

As with all vintage items our bags may show some signs of previous wear. Light scratches and surface wear to leather inside and or outside, dulling of metal hardware and an occasional old perfume scent.

How do you source your bags?

PerSé handbags are hidden jewels that appear at estate sales, auction houses, and antique shops from Italy to San Francisco and everywhere in between. When choosing a vintage handbag, the shape or architecture is the first draw. Every PerSé handbag is chosen with an eye for quality, style and authenticity. Many of the handbags look to have never been carried at all.
